Her educational background is in entrepreneurship and economics from Belmont University, with consulting experience spanning the startup and non profit sectors in both the U.S. and Central America. She is passionate about business as a tool for social impact, creating more sustainable food systems, and connecting women and migrant entrepreneurs to greater economic opportunity. She resides in Panama.

Dr. José González
Board Member
José González is an Associate Professor and the Chair of Entrepreneurship at Belmont University. His research and work focuses on immigrant entrepreneurship and he is particularly interested in social entrepreneurship and the links between economic development and entrepreneurship. Dr. González is the cofounder of Conexión Américas, a non-profit organization with the mission to build a welcoming community and create opportunities where immigrant origin families can belong, contribute and succeed. José currently resides in Nashville, TN.

His international business experience includes 18 years at United Parcel Service, 10 years starting and running companies in Mainland China and 7 years as the Chief Global Officer at David C Cook. Christy believes in the multiplier effect power of collaboration and partnership. She has three decades of Asia experience across the private, public and social sectors, and most recently served as Executive Director of Lien Centre for Social Innovation at Singapore Management University until August 2021. She is now Director of Back Porch Partners, a social innovation & social impact consultancy. She holds a Master of Tri-Sector Collaboration from Singapore Management University, and an Executive MBA from a joint program between Chulalongkorn University and Kellogg School of Management. Christy currently resides in Oregon.
