Conservation and Rural Enterprise (CARE) is actively proposing a holistic approach, rooted in ecotourism, to address endemic poverty, insufficient infrastructure and degraded environment in the Bwindi and Budungo forest areas of Uganda.

Kuzuko was founded in 2001 with two main goals in mind – as an ambitious conservation project that forms an integral part of the broader Addo Conservation Area, and an ambitious social project with the aim of creating jobs and offering training in an area of high unemployment and limited opportunities.

Growing up in a small town in South Africa, Luvuyo Rani received an education in technical skills and business administration. To provide access to technology in his rural hometown, he opened an Internet café that also offered computer training and IT support for local citizens.
