Our Origins
Transformational Business Network Alliance (TBN) is a global network of impact investors, business leaders, and social entrepreneurs united by the conviction that enterprise, not aid, is the most durable path to reducing poverty, protecting the environment, and creating economic opportunity.
Founded in 2003 by Kim Tan and Stuart McGreevy, seasoned entrepreneurs and impact investing pioneers, TBN was built to shift the development paradigm in emerging markets. Twenty years later, that conviction has grown into a decentralized coalition of locally led nonprofits and impact funds operating in 8 countries on 3 continents.
In Latin America, TBN acts as a bridge builder across the finance gap - mobilizing local sources of catalytic capital and addressing systemic gaps in investment readiness across the region with the purpose of channeling more fit-for-purpose investment to growing businesses solving social and environmental problems.
